First time?
Coming along to a church service for the first time can be a daunting experience. At Liberty Church Amsterdam we welcome everyone to join us and aim to make every service as understandable as possible.
We start each service by singing a few songs of worship together. The words will be on a screen, so you needn’t worry if you don’t know them.
One of our team will deliver a 30 min (approximately) talk based on a passage from the Bible. Read more about what we believe about the Bible and Jesus.
The whole service will last for around 75 minues and will be in English. We don’t provide any translation at this time, but if this is an issue for you then please get in touch and we’ll see how we can help.
Irregular services
Very occasionally we need to move either service time or venue to accommodate other events in our venues. We will note it on this page if there is an upcoming irregular service. You can also check Church Center for correct time/location information per week if you are ever unsure (tip: switch to calendar view to see future Sunday dates). If you follow us on social media (Instagram), we’ll also send out reminders in the lead up to an irregular Sunday there.
Livestream
If you are unable to join us in person, you can watch the livestream of our 9.30 service on our YouTube channel.
Following the fire in the Vondelkerk, we do not currently have the ability to livestream our services most weeks as we organise new equipment and systems. When possible, we are making a (lower quality) video recording that we upload later on our YouTube channel. We appreciate your patience as we work towards a solution. You are always welcome to join us in person!
Kids
We’re a church of people from all over the world, all ages and all walks of life. In particular, we love kids and have a number of families in the church.
Liberty Kids (2-11 yrs)
Our morning services include separate activities for the children which are run in English. However, we aim to have at least one bilingual (Dutch & English) leader on the team each week. We start each service singing songs of worship altogether, then the kids go out with their leaders for their special programme. Learn more about what we teach our kids.

Kids under 2
At the Posthoornkerk, unfortunately there is no separate creche room for parents with babies from 0-2 years. Young families are very welcome to come along. We are working on what the best solution is in the space.
Youth (12+ yrs)
We have growing youth group meeting fortnightly on Friday evenings for Middelbare School age kids. Get in touch to find out more!
Transport / Parking
As always in Amsterdam, the best way to reach us is on your bike! But if you would like some other options, we’ve got you covered.
Posthoornkerk
The Posthoornkerk is a 12 minute walk or 3 minute bus ride from Amsterdam Central Station. There is limited paid parking in the surrounding streets. We recommend pre-booking in the Parking Paradise garage, which is cheaper than street parking.
Thomaskerk
The Thomaskerk is a 5 minute walk from Station Zuid. Parking in the surrounding streets is free on Sundays.
