Due to the devastating fire that occurred in the Vondelkerk, we moved our Sunday morning services from the Vondelkerk to the Posthoornkerk for a season. From 1 November our morning services will meet in the Oosterkerk. We look forward to seeing you there!
First time?
Coming along to a church service for the first time can be a daunting experience. At Liberty Church Amsterdam we welcome everyone to join us and aim to make every service as understandable as possible.
We start each service by singing a few songs of worship together. The words will be on a screen, so you needn’t worry if you don’t know them.
One of our team will deliver a 30 min (approximately) talk based on a passage from the Bible. Read more about what we believe about the Bible and Jesus.
The whole service will last for around 75 minues and will be in English. We don’t provide any translation at this time, but if this is an issue for you then please get in touch and we’ll see how we can help.
Irregular services
Very occasionally we need to move either service time or venue to accommodate other events in our venues. We will note it on this page if there is an upcoming irregular service. You can also check Church Center for correct time/location information per week if you are ever unsure (tip: switch to calendar view to see future Sunday dates). If you follow us on social media (Instagram), we’ll also send out reminders in the lead up to an irregular Sunday there.
Livestream
If you are unable to join us in person, you can watch the livestream of our 9.30 service on our YouTube channel.
We do not currently have the ability to livestream our services most weeks as we organise new equipment and systems. When possible, we are making a (lower quality) video recording that we upload later on our YouTube channel. We appreciate your patience as we work towards a solution. You are always welcome to join us in person!
Kids
We’re a church of people from all over the world, all ages and all walks of life. In particular, we love kids and have a number of families in the church.
Babies (Under 2 yrs)
Kids of all ages are welcome in the service – we are a family after all! However we understand that small children can find it hard to sit quietly through a sermon. If your child is restless, you are welcome to step out of the service to the parents’ space where they can play and you will be able to listen in to the sermon.
Liberty Kids (2-11 yrs)
Our 9.30 service includes separate activities for the children which are run in English. However, we aim to have at least one bilingual (Dutch & English) leader on the team each week.
To keep our kids safe, they need to be checked-in for Liberty Kids before the service starts. We start each service singing songs of worship altogether, then the kids go out with their own leaders for their special program.
We have a gospel focused program that works through the Bible. We lead the kids in worship, prayer and sharing the wonder of God through discovering God’s word, creativity, play, friendship & fun!

Rood: 8-11 years
We are temporarily unable to run Liberty Kids at our 11.00 service but will recommence as soon as possible. Children are welcome in the main service at our 11.00 & 17.00 services. If you would like to join our kids team to help enable this, let us know.
If you plan to join us for the first time on Sunday, you can already register your kids below to speed up the check-in process on Sunday.
Youth (12+ yrs)
We have growing youth group meeting fortnightly on Friday evenings for Middelbare School age kids. On Sundays our teens join us in the main service. Find out more about youth.
Transport / Parking
As always in Amsterdam, the best way to reach us is on your bike! But if you would like some other options, we’ve got you covered.
Oosterkerk
The main entrance is not from the canal side, but off the square near the Albert Heijn.
Public transport
Bus 42 from Amsterdam Centraal Station will drop you on the doorstep (Wittenburgergracht). Trams 1, 4, 14, 19 all stop a few minutes walk away.
Parking
There is paid parking available in the surrounding streets. The closest parking garages are an 8 min (1 hr free with purchase then €6/hr) or 11 min (€3/hr) walk away. On Sundays, free parking is available east of the train line & south of the Singelgracht.
Thomaskerk
The Thomaskerk is a 5 minute walk from Station Zuid. Parking in the surrounding streets is free on Sundays.
